Being intentional with Jesus Christ daily means choosing—on purpose—to center your life around Him, not just fitting Him into spare moments. It’s a posture of the heart expressed through consistent actions.

Here’s how that can look on a daily basis:

Start your day with Jesus Christ

Before checking your phone or jumping into responsibilities, acknowledge Jesus.

  • “Lord, guide my thoughts, words, and actions today.”

  • Surrender your plans and invite His direction.

Even a few focused minutes sets the tone for everything else.

Stay connected throughout the day.

Intentionality isn’t just morning devotion - it’s ongoing awareness throughout the day.

  • Whisper prayers during your day.

  • Ask, “What would You have me do here?”

  • Pause before reacting and invite His wisdom.

This turns ordinary moments into spiritual ones.

Be led by His Word

Don’t just read Scripture—live it.

  • Choose one verse each day and carry it with you.

  • Let it shape your decisions, attitudes, and responses.

Obedience is one of the clearest signs of intentional love.

Guard your focus

What you feed your mind matters.

  • Limit distractions that pull you away from God

  • Replace them with worship, teaching, or quiet reflection.

Being intentional often means saying “no” to things that dull your spiritual sensitivity.

Reflect at the end of the day

Take a few minutes at night:

  • Where did I notice God today?

  • Where did I ignore Him?

  • What am I grateful for?

This builds awareness and deepens your relationship.

Choose Him dailyeven when it’s hard

There are days you’ll feel close to God; other days you won’t. Intentionality means you still choose Him:

  • When you’re tired

  • When you’re busy

  • When you don’t “feel” spiritual

Your consistency is what builds depth.

A daily prayer:

“Jesus, I choose You today. Lead me, shape me, and help me to walk in Your ways in everything I do.” As your word declares in John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit, apart from me you can do nothing.” (“John 15:4-25 (NIV) - Remain in me, as I also remain in you. Help me to focus on intentionally staying connected to you Jesus as the source of my life.

Amen.
